This week’s restaurant review will focus on an old favorite of mine – Rosemary’s in Greenwich Village!
Rosemary’s is in my neighborhood so it’s become, over the years, a favorite spot of mine not only for brunch or dinner, but also for coffee with friends, lunch with the moms, mother-daughter time with my 8-year old daughter, or girls’ night out! It’s also a great place for a power breakfast with my trusty laptop! I can’t count the number of hours that I’ve whiled away at Rosemary’s in between errands or before school pickup. It doesn’t hurt that the food is amazing!
My favorites on the menu include their fresh squeezed juices. When I go there during the day, I’m sure to get a fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and a pot of green tea! I also love love love the smoked salmon sandwich on the softest focaccia you’ve ever tasted. They also make delicious eggs; I usually order the Napolitano when I go there post-workout with my friends after a cardio class.
If you’re planning on bringing children, the grilled cheese with tomato soup is sure to be a hit, and they serve crispy chickpeas (full of protein!) that are amazing – the kids don’t even realize they’re eating something “healthy” because they are that good! On the sweet side, the Nutella panini is definitely a crowd pleaser for even the pickiest eater.
For dinner, I love their cheese and prosciutto plates to order for the table as an appetizer to share. They serve the cheese with honey and it’s simply irresistible! Add a glass of wine and you’re in for a lovely evening among friends! As an entree, I tend to get either the market fish or some pasta. My favorite dish is the Chitarra alla Carbonara – so deliciously satisfying! You can finish off with the Olive oil cake, super moist and just sweet enough to make it the perfect dessert!
